FLICKERTUNES 3 - 11/25/2022 8 p.m at City 46 Bremen

For the groups of clips, the artists Seppo Gründler and Robert Lepenik build a collage of deserted scenes - some newly shot, some found footage - which they assembled according to musical aspects. The first film made exclusively for Flickertunes. Then the music was created - according to cinematic criteria.

A cooperation between REM and City 46

The musicians speak of cinematic rational to irrational orders - and groupings. They are represented musically on the basis of the test results. The two Grazers focus on the observation of well-known dramaturgies in the rapid change of rooms. A kind of parallel dramaturgy emerges for the sound events.

Flickertunes is the name of a new series at City 46, in which the possible combinations of film and live music are regularly explored. FLICKERTUNES looks for new and surprising combinations of sound and moving images. Musicians from Germany and abroad write new soundtracks, improvise, remix, demix or invent new sonic forms to enter into a dialogue with film.
